Introducing Modern Management Management is what runs everyday life, somewhat smoothly while everyone conducts their every day life. ââ¬Å"Management by definition is the process of reaching organizational goals by working with and through people and other organizational resources.â⬠(Certo, Samuel C, Pg 5). Management in the role of a manager, is to guide their employees toward the corporate goals. Managers are able to complete this task by following the management function, which contains several parts. These parts consist of Planning, Organizing, Influencing, and Controlling. With all four of these parts put together you have established the foundation of becoming a good manager, with good management skills. Woman in particular have problems becoming a manager because it is thought they have a lesser ability to control men, while it is also harder for them to maintain control over a department or group of people if the employees are men due to the fact that men may be feeling inferior to the woman manager. While woman are able to complete the task just as easily and capable as a male can, it is often harder for higher level management to look past these issues. Although woman may be faced with the ââ¬Å"Glass ceiling: an unfair system or set of attitudes that prevents some people (such as women or people of a certain race) from getting the most powerful jobs.â⬠(Glass Ceiling). It is important for them to continue working towards their organizational goals, as there is a point where their determination and work will be seen and they will be able to be moved up within the company. As Forbes states, there are four objectives to staying ahead in the modern management world. Follow from the front, understand technology, lead by example, and embracing vulnerability (Forbes). All four of these management tips can help make you the best choice for that promoti on, or make it possible for you to be the best manager you can be.
